High End residential elevators are all about art and form. These elevators are eye-catchers and are meant to be show-pieces. These are typically customized cabs installed on commercial components. The custom cabs are very heavy and require the system weight capacity that only a commercial system can provide.
It is not unusual for these elevators to run into the $ 100K range and take 6 months to produce. This pricing does not include the construction work to prepare for the elevator.
At the lowest end of this category are commercial hybrids that have higher weight capacities that allow for a standard cab to be customized with chandeliers, built-out walls and ceilings, and heavy tile floors.
